As we officially saw the start of spring last week (I know, hard to believe) that can only mean one thing here at Positive Life – our annual Fundraiser is just around the corner. This year and back by popular demand, we are revisiting “Strictly” – we’ll be ‘tripping the light fantastic’ on Saturday 21st April 2018 at La Mon Hotel and Country Club.
Many of you will remember our Strictly – Gala Style event in 2016 and a few may even remember how great a night it was so we thought why not do it again. Although this time there is a different twist – we’re taking Strictly back to the 80’s! Everything from the cocktail reception and meal, through to the wine and dress code will be 80’s themed – we’re actively encouraging the wearing of leg-warmers! All the dances will be all choreographed to an iconic 1980’s tune and to round off the night there’ll be an 1980’s disco!
We’ve recruited 22 dancers and of course I couldn’t resist taking part again – sure it’s all fab-u-lous dahling!
We’re now approaching our half way point, which we all can’t quite believe – the time is going extremely quick! Each couple has been allocated their dance and at rehearsals we are continuing to learn steps for our group dance – which is certainly putting us through our paces, but it’s so much fun. Costumes and accessories are one of the highlights at this year’s event and I have never had so many serious conversations about neon and glitter in all my life, ‘tis 80’s themed after all.
To date we have over a quarter of our tickets sold, with seriously generous sponsorship also coming in this week from Brown O’Connor Communications. We also have some fantastic raffle prizes being donated and this week a special thanks to Tony Clarke, The Still House, Nando’s and Pizza Express for their support. Thank you!
